Wildlife Watch Events

Registered volunteers organise and lead fun activities for children aged 6-14 who are interested in the environment. Parents are welcome to join in most events.

Meets 2nd Saturday each month 10.30-12.30, usually at Blashford Lakes Centre, but also at local venues in the New Forest and SW Hampshire. 2007 Runner-up Watch Group of the Year.

Sat 13 Sep, 10:30-12:30. Where are all the water voles? Visit to a riverbank site with a Trust expert to look for signs of this endangered species and find out how the sponsorship money we've raised will be used to help them

Meets once a month, usually 10-12 Saturday am or 2-4 Sunday pm in the Petersfield – Portchester – Chichester area. Activities can range from crabbing and beach visits to kite flying, surveys and a regular conservation work-party on Brook Meadow, Emsworth.

Swanwick Lakes

This group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month, 6.30-8pm, AND 10.30am on the first Saturday of each month, usually at the Swanwick Reserve Study Centre. They get involved in local community projects, study and help wildlife on the nature reserve and enjoy a wide range of games and crafts.

Sat 2 August / Sun 3 August, 15:00 - 10:30. Over-night camp-out. Learn how to survive a night under the stars at Hacketts Marsh.

Meets 10-12 on the first Sunday morning of the month, usually at the Testwood Lakes Centre. Activities vary and include pond dipping, woodland wildlife, games and crafts.

Sun 7 Sept: Explore the seashore. Meet at Lepe Country Park information centre at 10.00. (NB: car parking fees are £1.50 for up to 2 hrs, £3.00 for up to 4 hrs) Stay on for lunch at the cafe if you wish.

All meetings 10.00 – 12.00, every 3rd Saturday of the month, usually at Grange Farm. This group benefits from access to the Wildgrounds woodland in western Gosport. Activities include pond and nest box management, bat evenings, local community tasks and occasional trips to the local beach.

July. Nocturnal nature. An evening walk looking at bats, moths and more. Date and time t.b.c.
Sat 20 Sept. Wild cooking. Collecting and cooking food from the hedgerow.

Starlets and Gold Award at Trust events

If you attend a Trust event at one of our Education Centres or on the Isle of Wight, bring along your Starlets sticker card or Gold Award passport as you may be eligible to claim an extra sticker or earn a Gold Award badge.
