Taking action for wildlife

We stand up for wildlife and wild places. By developing widespread support and focussing political attention, biodiversity can be rebuilt in Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and our local seas.

We are a leading voice in the New Forest National Park and the planned South Downs National Park, safeguarding these unique and wonderful parts of the our heritage.

We are continuing to campaign for better treatment of wildlife issues in the South East Development Plan, which could change the whole shape of our countryside. The Trust commented at the Examination In Public, urging the need for sustainable growth that balances the needs of people and wildlife.

We continue to comment on Goverment papers, such as the Planning White Paper that proposes reforms to make it easier for  nationally significant infrastructure projects - including energy, waste, waste-water and transport - to receive planning permission.
