Places to go

Loddon valley The Trust manages fifty seven wildlife reserves within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This land is a showcase for the Trust; it’s an example of how wildlife can thrive amongst the bustle of modern life. But these wildlife hot spots are not exclusively for wildlife conservation, we want visitors to enjoy their visit, have a fun day and enjoy the freedom. The majority of wildlife reserves are open to the public at all times. Come and view our counties countryside at its best.

On this land we work to protect the wildlife and habitats through the highest possible standards of management.
As well as our online information, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust has a comprehensive colourful guide to all our reserves and their wildlife. This guide is free if you join as a member and pay by direct debit.

We also recommend visiting Winchester City Mill. The Trust first began working with the National Trust at the mill in 1998, with support from the Environment Agency. The mill spans the River Itchen, a world famous chalk river, and a wildlife haven. Trust members have free entry into the mill.
