News from Wildlife Investors
Hambrooks
As a result of a recent urgent appeal, Hambrooks; our local award winning garden and landscape design company, have agreed to become sponsors of a brand new boat for our marine conservation work. Among its endless list of uses, the boat will help us to monitor local seal populations, carry out over wintering bird counts and essential conservation work at Keyhaven Marshes and Pewitt Island; both very difficult to access by foot - especially with all the tools and volunteers! We are very proud to have Hambrooks as a sponsor and we are looking forward to a long and mutually beneficial working partnership. If you would like to sponsor a key item please get in touch with Isabel Barrett on IsabelB@hwt.org.uk or call 01489 774412.
Seaview Wildlife Encounter, Isle of Wight
Seaview Wildlife is situated on the north-east corner of the Isle of Wight in a beautiful parkland setting, with waterfalls, lakes and dramatic views across the Solent. Since opening in 1971 a steady process of investment and development has resulted in the creation of a diverse wildlife haven with an amazing array of exotic birds and animals. Visitors to the Park openly remark on its cleanliness, ease of access and the abundance of wildlife that surrounds them in a natural unspoilt environment.
As a successful Company established for 39 years and having very strong roots on the Island, the business decided to become a Wildlife Investor to put something back into the community and to help preserve the unique wildlife habitats of the Isle of Wight and Hampshire. The Park is very keen to become involved with projects and fund raising initiatives to educate visitors in appreciating and respecting our beautiful countryside.
Corrotherm International
Corrotherm is proud to support the Hampshire Wildlife Trust Corrotherm International supplies high grade metals to the oil, gas and petrochemical industry. Its products are used to build equipment in highly aggressive processing applications. The majority of this equipment is used to protect the environment from the waste and heat that is generated in these industrial processes, and where possible reuse it.
The company is one of the few privately owned organisations left in its sector, with most of its competitors being owned by large corporations. Private ownership enables the company to be flexible and innovative with its approach to business and ensure that its policies and operations are sustainable as possible. Because of their involvement in an industrial processing sector the company's owners are very aware of the need for organisations like the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust and the need for their work to be carried on into the future. Hampshire is a particularly rich and diverse environment, which is also under all sorts of pressures, and Corrotherm is proud to be able to support the work of HWT in preserving our beautiful county for future generations.
Clarity Communication
Clarity Communication advises clients on how best to communicate with their stakeholders on matters such as strategy, vision, values, CSR, leadership and motivation.
We listen, advise and then produce whatever project we have decided upon as the best way to get the message across; it could be a DVD, a conference, a speech, a newsletter, an online campaign or even a mobile phone application.
To us wildlife is the foundation of our world. Servers could crash, email could go down, networks could fail but while we're all running around in circles the birds will still fly, fish will still swim, the weather will continue to be erratic and the wildlife kingdom will go on as if nothing has happened.
We thought we would like to work with a conservation charity and offer our skills to help them in their cause. At first we responded to an advertisement for funding for a newsletter. By applying some ‘communication' experience we were soon able to develop a new look and feel for the newsletter, include new features, make it more personal and suggest ways that it could be promoted more visually.
As happens with many of our clients, we are starting to fully appreciate what the Trust is trying to achieve, we can feel ourselves getting more involved and we're helping where we can.
Matchtech Group
Matchtech Group is the largest single site recruitment company in the UK based in Whiteley, Hampshire. As a successful company that celebrates our 25th Anniversary this year, we feel we have strong roots in Hampshire. We are delighted to be helping support our local wildlife and countryside and to be giving something back to the county that we have stemmed from.
We are going to be running some volunteering days for our staff where we will give them a day out of the office to help The Wildlife Trust with local volunteering projects. Whilst benefiting wildlife and the local community we feel this will also be a good team building opportunity where staff from different departments will get to interact. "We are very excited about working closely with The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust they do such a considerable amount for our local community and I think it is only right that local businesses support them."
Greenhouse Graphics
Greenhouse Graphics is a graphic design and printing company based in Bramley near Basingstoke, North Hampshire. The company is raising money for Environmental Charities in 2009 under the banner of 'Running Wild 2009'.
Staff members at Greenhouse Graphics are combining their interest in running to raise funds for The Hampshire Wildlife Trust and The Grasslands Trust. Each charity will receive £1 for every kilometer completed by Greenhouse Staff members in official running events between 1st May and 25th October (The Great South Run). The campaign helps to keep the participants fit, build a team spirit and contribute to extremely worthy causes. Ian Crossley, MD, says "I wasn't sure when we started the campaign whether it would fade over the months, but we now have 3 regular runners and two other staff members who are close to participating - so the campaign is growing and proving to be a success."
The 'Running Wild 09' Campaign follows last year's efforts to raise money for the HWT Water Vole Appeal which raised over £800.
