Watch Starlets
5-7 year old members can earn stars, stickers and zipper-pulls for activities done independently or through projects with a Wildlife Watch group.
Here are some of the activities a star could be awarded for:
- Work to help make a nest box for birds
- A picture of a favourite place to watch nature, labelled
- A photograph of a favourite flower or tree
- A collage from pressed leaves
- Work to help make a bird feeder
- A poster to change peoples habits (such as not dropping litter or clearing up dog poo)
- A mobile from things found on a nature walk
- A story about a creature of choice (such as a bee, a dolphin or a worm)
- Help to create or clear out a wildlife pond
- Giving a talk to a class or group on something interesting about nature
- Working at home to encourage the family to do recycling
- Making wildlife friendly presents on special occasions
- Planting a tree
- Writing a letter to a MP or local authority to highlight important environmental issues
- Growing plants with flowers to attract bees and butterflies
- Making minibeast houses for the winter
