Watch - Starlets

Watch Starlets

5-7 year old members can earn stars, stickers and zipper-pulls for activities done independently or through projects with a Wildlife Watch group.

Here are some of the activities a star could be awarded for:

  • Work to help make a nest box for birds
  • A picture of a favourite place to watch nature, labelled
  • A photograph of a favourite flower or tree
  • A collage from pressed leaves
  • Work to help make a bird feeder
  • A poster to change peoples habits (such as not dropping litter or clearing up dog poo)
  • A mobile from things found on a nature walk
  • A story about a creature of choice (such as a bee, a dolphin or a worm)
  • Help to create or clear out a wildlife pond
  • Giving a talk to a class or group on something interesting about nature
  • Working at home to encourage the family to do recycling
  • Making wildlife friendly presents on special occasions
  • Planting a tree
  • Writing a letter to a MP or local authority to highlight important environmental issues
  • Growing plants with flowers to attract bees and butterflies
  • Making minibeast houses for the winter

There are many more activities which could be added to this list - which is really only meant as a starting point. As a member, you will find many more ideas in the Watch Ready for Action booklet.
