Seashore creatures

Shore crab by Alan Price The Shore Crab is found on all types of shore around Britain. It eats worms, shell fish, seaweed and other creatures. The Shore Crab can grow up to 8cm across and can live in water up to 60 metres deep.
Anemone by Keith Broomfield Anemones look like plants but they are actually animals. They have stinging tentacles that help them to catch any little animals that swim by. They can retract their tentacles when the tide goes out.
Seals in Langstone harbour by Bryony James Seals feed on fish and other sea creatures. They often haul out onto rocky shores, mud flats and sandy beaches. Baby seals are born at an advanced stage and can crawl and swim within a few hours of birth.
