Project Objectives

The project will demonstrate how managing the land for conservation is also compatible with the interests of other users, such as for angling or providing access and opportunities for education. This presents some tough challenges not to detract from the needs of wildlife. However, by engaging the public through a variety of means the project will highlight how the needs of people can be addressed and how the reserve can provide a rewarding and stimulating experience.
The project is addressing the following key areas:
Habitat Restoration & Management
1. River restoration & fisheries management
2. Floodplain (terrestrial) habitat management
Monitoring & Survey
Audience Development
The Audience Development plan addresses the following areas.
3. Outreach work
4. Supported volunteering
5. Special events
For details, see the Conservation Management Plan.
