Marine

Coryphella sea slug by Paul NaylorUK seas are home to an estimated 44,000 different species and the South East English Channel has more than its fair share. In our region we have everything from colourful sponges and corals to seahorses and seals. The Wildlife Trusts are dedicated to protecting and conserving our marine environment and we work at a range of levels, from national to regional to local.

The South East Marine Programme works on behalf of the South East Wildlife Trusts, promoting marine conservation across the region.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust runs local conservation projects, gathering data on our most precious marine habitats, raising awareness of them and encouraging volunteers to get involved, find out more.
