South East Marine Programme
The South East Marine Programme, formed in 2000 by The Wildlife Trusts of south east England, is a partnership promoting marine conservation in South East England, with the following aims:
-
Developing the capacity of the Wildlife Trusts to contribute to both regional and national conservation of marine biodiversity
-
Assisting Trusts to raise awareness of the marine environment and anthropogenic impacts
-
Lobbying for sustainable use of the marine environment
-
Building relationships with national and local governments and authorities, industry and user groups
The South East Marine Programme carries out these broad aims and more specific ones on behalf of The Wildlife Trusts through several projects, more of which can be found out in the Projects page on this site.
