Lesser Water Boatmen live in ponds and lakes. They breathe by swimming up to the surface of the water and trapping a bubble of air beneath their wings. Lesser Water Boatmen feed ontiny plants in the water. |

The Dragonfly spends most of its life in the water as a larva. On a hot summer day, the dragonfly larva emerges from the pond and sheds its skin to become an adult dragonfly. Adult dragonflies eat small flying insects. |

The Pond Snail eats plants found in the pond. Its shell varies in colour from yellow to brown to black and is pointed. The Pond Snail lays its eggs on leaves of freshwater plants. |
