Badges and Stickers

Chris Packham, Vice President of Wildlife Watch, presented Hester and Florrie with their Gold Awards at a big Wildlife Trust event. They even helped to stir the record-breaking biggest bird seed cake in the world!

5-7 year old members can collect Starlets stickers for taking part in activities.

Chris Packham presenting a Gold AwardMembers 8 years and over can work for 8 different Gold Award badges. Each badge rewards achievements such as artwork, creative writing, recording wildlife, taking action, working as a team, becoming an expert on a wildlife topic.

Starlets

Here are some of the activities a star could be awarded for:

  • Help make a nest box for birds
  • A collage from pressed leaves
  • A mobile from things found on a nature walk
  • A poem about your favourite creature
  • Making wildlife friendly presents on special occasions
  • Planting a tree
  • Making minibeast houses for the winter

 When you send off for your Starlets sticker card, you will see lots more ideas.

Gold Award

Eight exciting, themed challenges for Watch members aged eight and above. You can be awarded Gold Award badges for work done independently or through activities with a Wildlife Watch group.

  • ButterflySOAPBOX What makes you mad? - spread the word.
  • WILD IDEAS Create three pieces of imaginative artwork inspired by wildlife
  • WILDLIFE ACTION Make an area better for wildlife.
  • CLOSE-UP Spend time getting to know wildlife on your doorstep.
  • XPERT Become a specialist on wildlife of your choice.
  • BUZZWORD Write a poem, song or play inspired by nature and the environment.
  • NEWSHOUND Research and report on a local environmental story.
  • TEAMWORK (optional) Join in activities with a Wildlife Watch group for a minimum period of 18 months.

More details are on the Gold Award passport. When you have collected all eight badges you receive a gleaming gold Watch badge and certificate signed by the Wildlife Trust's Vice-President, Chris Packham.
