  • Designated a Special Area of Conservation (SAC) for its quaking bog and transition mire habitat
  • SSSI status awarded for the extensive valley bog together with associated damp acidic grassland, heathland and developing woodland over Bracklesham Beds in the Hampshire Basin

Getting Around

Parking: Limited to 3 spaces at the Green Lane entrance to the site (SU389219).

Pedestrian Access: From Green Lane, Pound Lane and several public footpaths from Body Farm and North Baddesley. Footpaths are unsurfaced and can become muddy during winter months. A new boardwalk exists around the bog.
