Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust do?
We are the leading local wildlife conservation charity in Hampshire and the Island. We look after 46 wildlife reserves, have 27,500 members and 1,000 volunteers. We advise other landowners on how to manage their land with wildlife in mind. We carry out surveys and gather data to monitor how the local wildlife is doing. We offer wildlife education opportunities for the very young through to the very old. We work to protect wildlife on land and sea - so that we can all enjoy a future rich in wildlife.
Membership Questions
The Trust does have minimum membership rates but we welcome additional support and donations. Please go to our joining form for more details.
How can I pay?
You can become a member online through our secure Joining Form using your credit or debit card. If you pay by direct debit it helps us streamline our administration costs and allows you to pay your subscription monthly instead of annually.
What do I get?
On joining the Trust you will receive a Welcome Pack including the latest copy of our members magazine and wildlife diary of local events, a colour guide to all our reserves within Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, car sticker and membership card. Our magazine ‘Wildlife' is published three times a year and we will send you a copy as soon as it is available.
If you join as a family member, will you also become members of Watch?
Watch is the junior branch of the Wildlife Trusts. Your family will receive a Watch Pack - full of good ideas on how you can get involved with your local wildlife. Watch Word Magazine and the Wildlife Extra newsletter will be sent to you three times a year in addition to our magazine ‘Wildlife'.
Can I go to an event in other district group areas?
You are welcome to attend any of the events in our wildlife diary. Look out for any special instructions at the end of each entry.
