The River Anton Way

Anton Way signThe River Anton Way, complete with interpretation boards and finger posts, was created as part of the River Anton Enhancement Strategy. The River Anton Way runs from Charlton Lakes, through to Anton Lakes, down through the town centre, and out to Rooksbury Mill, following the course of the river.  The idea behind the River Anton Way was to make the river more accessible, whilst informing local people, dog walkers and visitors to the reserves, about the improvements that have been made to the river through the project, and the wildlife that has benefitted.

River Anton WayThe total length of the River Anton Way is about 3.5miles long, but there are many access points, so you don’t have to walk the whole route. Parking can be found at Charlton Lakes, Anton Lakes, the Town centre, and Rooksbury Mill. There are 7 information boards dotted along the route which will inform you about the wildlife that you may see and the restoration work that has been completed.
