About Us
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is the leading nature conservation charity in the two counties, committed to improving conditions for wildlife, protecting wildlife, restoring biodiversity and connecting people with the natural world.
- The Trust turns over more than £4M per year and we spend 94 pence of every pound directly on our charitable activities.
- We are part of a UK-wide partnership of 47 Wildlife Trusts with a collective membership of more than 850,000 people. We work collectively to influence national and regional government policies affecting wildlife.
- We manage over 6,000 hectares of land including 46 nature reserves and give advice to other landowners.
- We have the support of 28,000 members, around 700 volunteers and about 90 members of staff
Our vision is to create living landscapes and living seas rich in wildlife and valued by everyone
Living landscapes is about creating bigger, better quality and more joined up nature for everyone. A high quality natural environment is essential for people’s quality of life and the Trust is working locally to join up wildlife-rich habitats and restore colour and vitality to our countryside and towns. Our targeted approach ensures that we focus on areas where the most benefits for nature can be achieved.
Living Seas is all about helping marine wildlife to recover from past declines through promoting more sustainable use of marine resources and through creating protected areas.
To achieve our aims we need people to get involved and support us by:
- Joining as a member
- Becoming a volunteer
- Making a donation
