South Downs District Group
The South Downs District Group invites you to join them for indoor and outdoor events throughout the year to learn more about local wildlife in our area. The District Group also acts as the local ‘ears to the ground' for the Wildlife Trust, promoting and getting involved in local conservation work.
Indoor meetings
We hold monthly meetings indoors during winter, usually on the third Wednesday of the month at St Wilfred's Church Hall, Padnell Road, Cowplain. We arrange an interesting programme of talks with examples of recent topics including Spring Birds of Coast and Forest, Deer of the New Forest and The natural history of the Dorset Coast.
Outdoor visits
We organise a varied programme of outdoor visits and walks to Trust reserves and other places of wildlife interest. Recently we have organised a walk along the Catherington Nature Trail, a visit to Old Winchester Hill to look at the summer flowers and represented the Trust at Catherington Lith Wood Fair.
Details about all our events and activities can be found in the Trust's Wildlife Events Diary. For further information please call Peter Leversha on 023 9259 2711.
