Hampshire Flora Group

Welcome to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s Flora Group web pages! Here you will find everything you need to get involved in botanical conservation in Hampshire.

The Flora Group exists to encourage people to take an interest in wild plants and to expand their knowledge; it is concerned not only with flowering plants and ferns, but also lichens, mosses, liverworts and fungi (which are not plants at all!).

Hampshire Flora Group is coordinated by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. We work with the Botanical Society of the British Isles and their local forum at Hants Plants, we also work closely with Plantlife and Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre.

It is free to come along to Flora Group events and everyone with an interest in plants is very welcome to get involved in surveys and meet other flora enthusiasts.  If you would like to support the running of the group you can become a Hampshire Flora Group member. To join the Hampshire Flora Group, you need to be a member of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust.

Please click here to join from only £3 a month, then email feedback@hwt.org.uk with your name and membership number to let us know you would like to join the Group.

The Group is keen to welcome people of all abilities and coming along to an event is a great way to get started for anyone with a burgeoning passion for wildflowers. Events mainly take place in Hampshire, with occasional trips further afield; see below for details of events near you.
