Gosport District Group

The Gosport District Group invites you to join them for indoor and outdoor events throughout the year to learn more about local wildlife in our area. The District Group also acts as the local ‘ears to the ground' for the Wildlife Trust, promoting and getting involved in local conservation work.

Indoor meetings

We hold monthly meetings indoors during winter, usually on the second Friday of the month at St Mary's Alverstoke Parish Centre. We arrange an interesting programme of talks with examples of recent topics including Nature at Portsdown Hill, Titchfield Haven and Hamble Reserves and the New Forest National Park.

Outdoor visits

We organise a varied programme of outdoor visits and walks to Trust reserves and other places of wildlife interest both inside the borough and further afield. Recently we have organised a Holiday Beach Scramble at Hillhead, a Heathland and Shingle Walk at  South Browndown and a walk at Sandhill and the Alver Valley Park.

Other activities

Occasionally we promote the Trust with a small stand at local shows. We encourage people to join the Trust as members although our meetings are open to all. We also organise practical conservation work on Trust reserves in the area.

Details about all our events and activities can be found in the Trust's Wildlife Events Diary, the Lee Advertiser and town and library noticeboards. For further information please call Richard Bloom on 02392 527094.
