Wildlife Trust Wins Prestigious Web Award
24 February 2010
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust was delighted to win the award trophy for Best Special Interest Website at the 7th Hantsweb Awards. The Trust was also voted runner up in the Best Charity category.
The Hantsweb Awards is a unique and prestigious event that promotes and provides recognition of excellence and innovation in website design, accessibility and web services. Since 2002 Hampshire County Council has organised the Awards to improve the standard of online services, encourage good practice, reward innovation and raise awareness of the opportunities the web presents for communities.
Nominations for the awards were assessed by judges with expertise and experience in their chosen field, and they look for good practice, accessibility, ease of use, relevance, and of course, great design.
Winners were presented with a special Hantsweb Awards trophy and prizes at a VIP ceremony held at the Intech Planetarium in Winchester on 23rd February.
Abi Jarvis, e-media marketing officer at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust has project managed the design and implementation of the highly successful website http://www.hwt.org.uk/
Abi said, "It is brilliant news for the Wildlife Trust to win this award. We are really proud of the website, which was relaunched in October 2008, and to receive this recognition is a boost to everyone who works on it. To win the award in a category with over 200 nominations is a tribute to the team that contributes to its content and works hard to keep it up to date with relevant information."
