Fundraiser (Ref: 0007)

With bonuses you will earn over £10 per hour - Part-time (15 - 21 hrs/week)/week - Fixed-term

We are looking for enthusiastic part-time (15 – 21 hrs/week) seasonal and permanent home based Fundraisers who can help encourage support for the Trust’s work to protect and enhance local places for wildlife conservation. You will be working late afternoon and early evenings five days per week with regular daytime support and training. With bonuses you will earn over £10 per hour.

As a Fundraiser you will visit members of the public at their homes to raise support through regular direct debits for the Trust. We are looking for articulate, intelligent and self-motivated applicants with good interpersonal skills.

Previous sales or fundraising experience would be advantageous but not essential as we will provide training and ongoing support.

Youth Volunteering Officers x 2 (SW or SE Hampshire) (Ref: )

£22,967pa - Full-time 35 hours per week, temporary contracts to end 30 September 2013/week - Fixed-term

With funding from a Big Lottery's Access to Nature grant, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is seeking to employ 2 Youth Volunteering Officers to work across the South Hampshire area, to implement a youth volunteering project called PUSHing Down the Barriers. Each of the two posts will cover either the south east or south west of Hampshire. 

The project aims to engage young people with the natural world, through practical conservation work, and to help them learn useful social and life skills. The target group of young people would be between the ages of 13 and 19, who may be disadvantaged, or are not in education, employment or training, and/or at risk of social exclusion. In addition to practical conservation work, the project also looks to inspire young people through the use of creative media tools such as photography.

You must be educated to degree level or equivalent and have two years or more experience of working with young people.  Ideally, you will have a knowledge of environmental issues, as well as practical conservation skills. A full driving licence is required, with minibus driving qualification an advantage. Communication, organisational and administrative skills are prerequisites for the jobs. Enhanced CRB checks are required for these posts.

Assistant Education Officer (Ref: 0008)

Salary £18,593 pa - full-time 35 hours per week; temporary maternity leave cover/week - Temporary

We are looking for an Assistant Education Officer to cover for maternity leave within the department. The job is based at Testwood Lakes Centre and will involve helping with teaching, leading groups in environmental activities, and working with local schools at their sites. These groups range from pre-school to adult, from school groups to the general public. The post will also include some reserve management and warden duties. 

You will be qualified to degree level or equivalent.  Experience of working with children or young people in an education or youth setting is essential.  You will need excellent communication skills, and organisational and administrative skills.  An enhanced CRB check is required for this post.

Education Officer - North Hampshire (Ref: )

FTE £22,967pa pro rata - part-time 21 hours per week; temporary 12 months contract/week - Fixed-term

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is the leading nature conservation charity which seeks to increase people's involvement in their local environment and in turn create better conditions for wildlife on land and in the sea.

We are looking for an Education Officer to join our North Hampshire Area Conservation team. He/she will act as a public face of the Trust in north Hampshire, covering all aspects of education outreach work with schools, colleges and the wider community (including land owners/managers), developing and providing education programmes for a broad range of groups.

You will be educated to degree level and have extensive experience of education, preferably in the environmental field.  Experience of developing and managing projects is also essential. You will need excellent communication skills, a good understanding of environmental education, and the ability to inspire all age groups and abilities.  A full driving licence and an enhanced CRB check are required for this post.

Vacancy for a Trustee of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust (Ref: 00010)

N/A - /week - Fixed-term

We currently have one vacancy for a trustee and are seeking someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who ideally has some experience in finance, business or health & safety. You will need to be a member of the Trust and be fully supportive of its work.

If you think you have the right background and skills, we will require a completed nomination form and application (please see below). Following that, all nominees will be interviewed by a Panel made up of the Trust’s President, Trustees and Senior Staff as part of the Trust’s process in appointing trustees. If there is more than one nominee, all names will go forward for a competitive election at the Trust’s Annual General Meeting on 23rd October 2010. Following election, a full induction will be provided.
